Having returned to Sicily at the beginning of the twentieth century, after a brief experience in America, Carmine Trefiletti invested resources and strength in the planting of several hectares of vineyards in a suitable area of Etna, Castiglione di Sicilia. Thus Aìtala was born.
Rocco, the founder's grandson, continues the winemaking tradition with devotion, dedicating himself withpassion for the enhancement of the vineyards, following the traditional uses of the Etna winemakers.
