Albanais an Italianwhite grape variety grown mainly inEmilia-Romagna . Albana di Romagnaobtained the DOCG designation in 1987, becoming the first white wine to receive this honor in Italy. It is produced with white grapes from local vineyards of Emilia-Romagna (especially in the areas of Forlì, Ravenna and Bologna), but its production is also authorized in other regions of Italy such as Liguria , Marche , Tuscany and Umbria .
