Immersed in the greenery of the heart of Italy, Umbria , a short distance from the border with Tuscany, lies Castello della Sala , an estate that every year confirms its prestige in the panorama of world white wines.
Most of the 200 hectares of vineyards are cultivated with white grapes including Grechetto , Sauvignon Blanc, Procanico, Sèmillon, Pinot Bianco, Riesling and Traminer . The only red grape variety cultivated is Pinot Nero which, thanks to the typical terroir of Orvieto, finds the perfect conditions to express its best. A production therefore almost entirely dedicated to great white wines, of excellent longevity.
The undisputed star? Cervaro della Sala , a great Italian cru, recognized for being one of the first to have fermented and aged in barriques.
