The farmers of the Finnish town of Koskenkorva are honest and hard-working people. They have been the backbone of Koskenkorva Vodka for six decades and most of them have been working as farmers for many generations. The barley in Koskenkorva is unique in its kind and Saana and Elmeri, the two varieties present, are the two types of barley grown furthest north in the world. The long days of the summer season in which the barley grows in the best way, allow for a large harvest in the autumn. The water used in the distillation is one of the purest in the world. It is filtered daily through the ridges of Salpausselkä and all that is needed is to filter out the leaves and branches that are carried by the current. Koskenkorva Vodka is produced through a continuous distillation process and the only added ingredient is pure spring water.
