Red Wines Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir , also known as Pinot Noir , is a red grape variety that produces some of the most elegant and sought-after wines in the world.

The name “Pinot” probably comes from the French word “pigna,” meaning “pine cone.” This refers to the small, compact clusters of grapes, which resemble pine cones. Pinot Noir originated in the Burgundy region of France , where it forms the basis for some of the greatest wines, including Romanée-Conti, Chambertin, and Richebourg.

It has also spread to other European regions, including Champagne (where it contributes to the success of sparkling wines) and Italy .

Pinot Noir wines have a ruby red color, bright in the young ones and more pale in the “ Riserva ” versions. The aroma is typically of small red fruits, especially currants, but also blackberries and raspberries and the taste is elegant and incredibly pleasant. Aging in oak barrels ( Barriques ) can produce exceptional results.
