Villanova Estate
REGION : Friuli Venezia Giulia
ADDRESS: Farra d'Isonzo - Gorizia
HECTARES UNDER VINEYARD: 200
Founded in 1499, Tenuta Villanova is today the longest-running winemaking business in Friuli Venezia Giulia. This estate, located between the high banks of the Isonzo and the hills of Collio, extends for about 200 hectares . Its history is made up of people, wines and land, and represents a centuries-old heritage of tradition and culture of the territory. The “ancient mansi” cultivated for centuries were acquired by the Chapter of Aquileia and are evidence of a deep rootedness in the territory. The Strassoldo family has owned the estate since 1932, and their tireless vocation to produce high-quality wines has resisted even during the most tormented historical events. The architectural complex of the estate, with spaces dedicated to agricultural, wine-growing and distillation production, is an example of rural architecture of great historical value.
