Rondinella Red Wines

Rondinella is a black grape variety native to the Verona area, mainly found in Valpolicella.

The origins of Rondinella remain unknown. Its name probably derives from the black-bluish color of its grapes, which recalls the plumage of a swallow. It is vinified in blends with other varieties from the province of Verona, especially Corvina, Corvinone and Molinara.

Wines produced with Rondinella express an intense ruby red color, with light purple nuances. On the nose, they have a fruity and complex bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, cherries, tobacco and spices. The tannin is persuasive but firm, and their complex structure makes them perfect to accompany grilled meats, stews and special occasions.
