White Wines Ribolla Gialla

There Yellow Ribolla It is a native vine of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia , cultivated since Roman times in the hills around Rosazzo . In Slovenia and Croatia, it is called Rebula . It is believed that its origin was in the southern islands of Dalmatia or further south to Cephalonia, from where some believe it was imported into Friuli around 1100. Its territory of excellence is the hilly area between Udine And Gorizia , in the DOC denominations Isonzo , Collio , Friuli Eastern Hills and in the Rosazzo DOCG . Excellent results are also given by the “Rebula” of the Slovenian Collio .

The bunches of Ribolla gialla are small, cylindrical-pyramidal and medium compact. Their grapes are medium, slightly flattened at the poles (discoidal), with a pruinose skin, alabaster yellow in color. The pulp is neutral in flavor, sweet and slightly astringent. From the grapes of the Ribolla gialla vine vinified in white, a fresh wine is produced with a constantly lively acidity, a delicate taste and a characteristic fruity aroma. It is a wine with a pale straw yellow color with greenish reflections, a dry, fresh and pleasantly scented flavor, rich in acidity, harmonious overall.
