Burgundy, Land of Masterpieces

Burgundy is one of the oldest regions of France and is located in the central-eastern area.

Considered one of the territories where high-level wine is produced with familiarity, known for the production of white wines from Chardonnay grapes and red wines from Pinot Noir grapes, it is the northernmost place in the world where red wines of excellent quality are produced.

The cool climate is one of the fundamental elements for the production of both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, without however having few risks. In fact, the weather conditions can be adverse, causing damage to the production of wine, which in certain years can be of mediocre quality.

This means that Burgundy wines vary depending on the vintage.

The winemaking tradition of Burgundy has its roots in Roman times. The real evolution, however, occurred after the French Revolution, when all the land, including the vineyards, was divided into parcels.

In the region, we can distinguish domaines , a group of vineyards of various sizes, located in different areas and even far from each other, generally belonging to a single company.

The grapes are vinified separately, so as to obtain wines that best represent the territory.
