Verdicchio

Verdicchio is a white grape variety present mainly in the Marche, on the hills between Jesi and Matelica, since the 8th century. It takes its name from the color of its berries and is considered one of the grape varieties with the most important evolution potential in Italy .

Wines produced with Verdicchio have good acidity, a marked flavor and the ability to develop a notable alcohol content. In addition, the typical almond finish is a signature of this variety.

Verdicchio has taken on a true identity in two specific areas of the Marche: the Castelli di Jesi in the province of Ancona and Matelica in the province of Macerata.

The wines of Jesi are more structured while those of Matelica maintain an important freshness .
