Negroamaro is a red grape variety native to Puglia , also known as Negro Amaro or Negramaro. This ancient grape variety is widespread throughout the region, but is particularly typical of the Salento areas.
Negroamaro offers intense, balsamic and enveloping aromas . Among the dominant notes, we find hints of earth, salt, plums, olives, rhubarb and spices. It is a fruity wine, but also spicy , with traces of pepper, roots, eucalyptus and a thousand aromatic herbs.
On the palate, Negroamaro is structured and warm thanks to its high alcohol content. The tannins are juicy and tasty , while the acidity is notable.
Negroamaro is used to produce important red and rosé wines.
