Notes : On the nose it stands out for the excellent balance of notes of ripe candied red fruit in harmony with hints of marasca cherry and delicate sensations of tobacco. On the palate pleasantness, balance and freshness come together harmoniously, giving a very long taste persistence.
Vignaferrovia is produced only in the best years from a small vineyard of about 4 and a half hectares, adjacent to the old Pian delle Vigne station, resting on a soil that tends to be clayey and calcareous, rich in small skeleton. It is an elegant, enveloping wine, characterized by a dense tannic texture supported by great freshness and sweetness. The first vintage of Vignaferrovia was 2004. It was not produced in 2005, 2008, and 2011.

Vinification & Aging: The careful selection of the bunches and a generally favorable climate trend ensured that the grapes arrived in the cellar intact and ripe. The grapes, destemmed and softly pressed, were transferred to stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation took place. Once the maceration was completed, which lasted about 20 days, the wine began its maturation in wood. The evolution took place over a period of over two years, starting from small 5hl barrels, partially new, up to 30 hl. At the end of the maturation period, Vignaferrovia was bottled and continued its long refinement in the bottle.

Pairings : A meditation wine.
