Catarratto is one of the main Sicilian white grape varieties, grown in everycorner of the island thanks to its vigor and high yields. This grape variety, native to Sicily, is considered semi-aromatic and produces wines of great elegance and drinkability. Its history dates back to time immemorial, and until a few years ago, it was used for the production ofMarsala.
Catarratto is very expressive , with aromas of tropical fruit, peat, cereals, honey, almonds, candied fruit, flowers and a light spicy note. In the mouth it is fresh , velvety, with a savory thrust and persistence. It is not a light wine; on the contrary, it has structure, ripe fruit and a renowned tannicity.
