This rum was distilled in 2008 in Guyana, at Demerara Distillers, in a unique and very special still: a double wooden Pot Still that once belonged to the Port Mourant distillery, one of the oldest distilleries in the Caribbean, which closed its doors in the second half of the last century. It was then aged first for 17 years in ex-bourbon barrels in the humid tropical climate of Guyana, then a year and a half in France, at Château de Bombonnet, enjoying the continental climate, and then further refined in small 400-liter barrels that had previously contained red Pineau de Charentes. This process has given the Demerara sugar cane spirit hints of red fruits and a light softness that have made it a drink of the highest level. A collector's item, as well as one to be enjoyed in the best company.
